Welcome back to The Circle! As we approach the end of term, there is so much we have achieved together as a community. The Year 3 children represented the school incredibly well in their performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Stratford Arts Centre. The Year 2 children have been a beacon for how learning through play not only makes their learning more meaningful, but also helps them develop important skills for the future. Year 1 organised a wonderful Spring celebration and raised over £350 for the year group! The Reception children continue to grow so much in confidence and ability and it is a joy to see how excited they are to be at school and learning every single day. All of this makes our work a privilege. Thank you so much to the staff, parents and families for your continued support. Have a great Easter break and we will see you back on Wednesday 23rd April! Best wishes, Andi

Reception – Joy & Responsibility

Our Reception children have been rolling up their sleeves and discovering their green fingers in our garden area! With joy and curiosity, they have been busy planting plants, salads and bulbs and taking great responsibility in looking after them. Their excitement is already bringing fresh life to the space, and we can’t wait to see the garden really come into bloom!

Year 1- Joy

This week, our Year 1 children have been incredibly busy, taking part in their sponsored scoot and organising a fantastic Spring Celebration. The event was a great success, and the children truly excelled! We are thrilled to have met our fundraising goal, which covered the cost of our trip, all while ensuring the children had lots of fun. A huge thank you to all the parents for your continued support and generosity, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Year 2 – Joy

The children have absolutely loved our Victorians topic this half term! It has been wonderful to see them so passionate about their work and it has definitely shown in everything they have produced! They have worked so hard with their Victorian house models and shown resilience when making their furniture out of woodwork! This week the children have been acting out what a day in the life of a Victorian school and used their oracy skills to record a voice note explaining their day.

Year 3 – Curiosity

In Year 3 the children have been learning about persuasive writing and have spent that past week working on persuasive posters. They thought very hard about how to use ambitious adjectives, imperative verbs and alliteration.

Community Corner:

Winnie gets a Medal!

Olympic diver, Noah Williams, presented our very own Winnie with a very special medal at her gymnastics competition with Little Socks Gymnastics. Winnie said, “We had to go on the trampoline and do a tuck jump… I was so happy to get 3rd place!” Well done, Winnie!

Collaboration with the new Coffee House!

Next term, the children in Year 3 will be doing a short project with the Signorelli in the East Village. They will learn from professional bakers in their kitchen. They will then use their skills to train up some of the younger children to bake in a sustainable way with minimal waste. We are excited about this partnership and we hope you can visit the Coffee House when you are in the area to see where the children will be working!

Breakfast Club and After School club

Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:

We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.

Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.

We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.

After School club
