Welcome back to The Circle! This week has been full of exciting community events and experiences that are not just fun for the children, but also help to bring us all together. It was heartwarming to see the fantastic turnout at our School 360 Iftar event and to see the children celebrating with their friends and family. Thank you for all that you do to make these events a success and for your contribution towards a positive environment where everyone can thrive. Have a good weekend when it arrives! Best wishes, Andi and team
Rec: Curiosity
This week, the children in Reception have been exploring toys—both old and new—while learning that some toys from the past are no longer around due to changes in materials and technology. One activity that sparked their curiosity was decorating CDs to make light chimes. At first, the children were puzzled about what CDs were, but they soon discovered that many of the adults at home grew up with different kinds of toys and technology. It was wonderful to see the children expanding their understanding of the world!

Year 1: Joy
The Year 1 children have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Anna Hibiscus, the main character from our story. They’ve been fully engaged in freeze frames and hot seating activities, stepping into the shoes of characters from the book. These activities have not only enhanced their writing but also provided them with a deeper understanding of the characters. So much fun!

Year 2 – Curiosity
This week Sky Brown class has been looking at how people would have dyed fabrics in the Victorian times. They explored how to dye fabric using raspberries, blueberries and beetroot. They found it fascinating watching how the fabric changed colour from using only natural items. They also showed courage and responsibility this week as we have re-introduced our woodwork station for the children to tinker with, learning and practising how to drill and saw in preparation for our mini furniture project.

Year 3 – Responsibility
This week in year 3 , we have been learning about making the midsummer night's dream props. One of our favourite activities was making the rose bushes at the makers morning because we got to do art. We have been showing the value of responsibility for making the props for our show.

Thank you to all the parents, children, and staff members for making this year's Iftar a very memorable one. We couldn't have done it without you all! We are pleased to announce that we have raised a total of £470 for a chosen charity that was selected by the School. Once again THANK YOU!

Community Garden now open on Saturdays
hanks to everyone who came along this morning – especially the wonderful little ‘budding’ gardeners! We had a great time sowing seeds, painting signs and pictures, and planting apple trees and currant bushes. 🌱🌳🚧🤗

School 360 dog
I am very excited to let you know that Willow will be joining School 360. She is a Cavapoo and I will be bringing her home at 10 weeks old. She is hypoallergenic and does not shed fur, which means she is better to have if you have allergies. Willow is very calm and loves cuddles. Both of her parents are therapy dogs in schools and her brother, Ronnie, will be joining School 21! Willow will spend days in school, where you will see her on the gate, in the senior leadership office and with trained handlers around the school. Please do not worry if you don’t like dogs. You do not have to interact with her. She will always be on a lead and with an adult. There will also be spaces in the school where she will not be permitted to go. A letter will go out with more information, but we are also here to answer any questions.
I look forward to introducing her to you all.
Best wishes,
Andi

Breakfast Club and After School club
Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:
We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.
Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.
We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.
