Welcome back to The Circle! We are approaching the final week of term and the children still have just as much energy and enthusiasm as ever! It’s a joy to see how engaged they are with all aspects of their learning. I especially enjoyed hearing all about the Epping Forest trip in Year 2. We hope to see many of you at the Christmas shows next week. The children have been busy rehearsing so that they can put on the best performance yet! Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives. Best wishes, Andi and team
Our Values in Action:
Rec-Joy
This week, the children in Reception have been embracing the holiday spirit by learning about the Christmas season and its many traditions. They have been bursting with excitement as they practiced their parts for the Christmas play and crafted beautiful handmade decorations for our school Christmas tree. It has been truly wonderful to witness their enthusiasm and share in their joy during this festive time.
Year 1 – Curiosity
As our exciting project about the Great Fire of London is now coming to and end, this week children in Year 1 have been thinking about what happened to London after the fire. We have spoken about how lives were affected and what new rules were introduced in terms of building construction and how the city was redeveloped. We learnt about Christopher Wren and his designs. Children also had a go at making a set of their own rules about how to reconstruct the city after
the fire.
Year 2 – Curiosity
This week, the children in Sky Brown Class had a fantastic time on their trip to Epping Forest. They went on a scavenger hunt looking for different types of fungi, they were ecstatic when they found lots of different types! They also used their measuring knowledge to estimate the different ways to measure how tall the tree is. It was wonderful seeing them enjoy themselves in the forest.
Year 3 – Curiosity
Year 3 have been learning about rocks and fossils this half term and they were tasked as preteologists to demonstrate how fossils are formed in sedimentary rocks. They made their own fossils using clay and plaster of paris and created stop-animation with their finished product.
Community Corner:
Tomorrow’s climate Scientist!
This week the children have been exploring nature by taking a trip to Epping Forest. They found different types of Fungi and other objects which grow in nature. We discussed the importance of being in nature.

Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:
We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.
Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.
We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.
After School club
