Welcome back to The Circle! It’s great to see how much the children have engaged with outdoor learning this week. They show responsibility by making sure they are wrapped up warm and wearing wellies when it’s wet. When it’s cold outside, some children ask about those who are homeless and how we can help. On Tuesday, I joined Nina (Y1) and her family on a walk to raise money for the homelessness charity, Shelter and we walked 10K! If you would like to donate to the cause, please feel free to do so via this link. Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives. Best wishes, Andi and team

Our Values in Action:

Rec: Curiosity

This week, the children have been deeply engaged in their exploration of the outdoor area. They have been developing their imaginative play by creating Santa’s sleigh, using teamwork and creativity to bring their festive ideas to life. Additionally, they have explored our water play area, where they practiced important skills like measuring and experimenting with pouring liquids into different containers. These activities not only foster imaginative thinking but also support early math and fine motor skill development. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm shine!

Year 1 – Curiosity

This week Year 1s have finally put their little houses to the test against water. It was so exciting to see them predict which materials would hold up best. They learned a lot about how different materials act, and it was a fun way to see science in action!

Year 2 – Curiosity

This week the children have been researching Sky Brown and have been able to make timelines about her life. It has been wonderful watching the children become inspired by her and excited to write their biographies about her next week.

Year 3 – Curiosity

This week, Year 3 explored Mount Vesuvius and learned all about the volcano that engulfed Pompeii. Children shared their experiences of visiting the famous city and their knowledge on volcanoes and created wonderful art pieces depicting the eruption of 79 CE!

Community Corner:

Local sculpture artists

'Talking Sculpture Making' (TSM) are kindly inviting all School 360 families to come along to the opening event of their exhibition on Thursday 12th December 6-9pm. They will also be delivering an exciting sculpture workshop to some of our children in the new year. Watch this space!

Tomorrow’s climate Scientist!

The children have been monitoring the percentage of pollution in the air around our school. We have started discussing why different sensors will be getting different amounts and thinking of ways we can help prevent this.

Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:

We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.

Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.

We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.

After School club

Premier Wraparound will run after school every day the school is open, subject to demand/minimum bookings being met. For booking enquiries please contact [email protected] or Sophie Morris, [email protected] alternatively you can call on 01953499040 / 07857987693
