Welcome back to The Circle! It’s been a delight to see how much fun the children have had with their learning this week. It’s great to see them learning through play, exploration and collaboration with their peers. The children often want to show me what they have discovered in a science experiment or in the woodwork area. They have also been testing my history knowledge when talking to me about The Great Fire of London! Play is at the heart of what we do at School 360 and what’s most important is that it’s something all children (and grown ups) can be a part of in some way. Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives. Best wishes, Andi and team
Our Values in Action:
Reception – Curiosity
The children have been working hard this week, practicing their story-retelling skills. They have been retelling the story of Rama and Sita, creating story maps, and even making their own clay diva lamps. It's been wonderful to see their curiosity grow and develop throughout the week.
Year 1- Curiosity
The children have been working hard this week at building houses out of different materials. We have discussed which materials will be best to use to be protected by water and fire. They have even been practicing their woodwork skills to do this!
Year 2 – Curiosity
This week the children have been investigating the impact friction has on different sports. They investigated this using different materials and cars to see if it changed the speed the car moved at. It was lovely seeing the children so engaged with their learning and hearing their fantastic discussions about why different sports are played in certain venues.
Year 3 – Responsibility
Once a week, year 3 watch newsround and have a class debate about what we learn. With the presidential election having just passed, we had a great discussion about what we think of the new President and what impact he will have both in the USA and throughout the world.
Community Corner:
Tomorrow’s climate Scientist!
The children in Year 2 have been looking at air pollution and what causes it. We decided we needed to look at our local area first, the children looked at the sensors we have placed in the school and observed the levels of pollution which the sensor has recorded over the past 7 days. The children took the data and plotted it into a bar graph where they were shocked to see the rise in a certain day. We discussed what might have caused the spike and began to think about ways we can work together to help reduce the amount of air pollution.
Walk for home fundraiser with Shelter
Nina (Year 2) invites you all to join Andi and her on a fundraising walk for Shelter, on the 3rd of December after school. She's been talking for many months with her family about what she can do for the people in need, especially the ones struggling with housing. She is inspired by the school's mission for social justice, and she has a lot of energy for long walks! Please share the link or donate if you can. Walk for Home fundraiser
Love 4 reading
To promote the love of reading, we give every child a book for their birthday that they can keep and this is supported through your kind donations. Thank you to everyone who has donated books so far. We really appreciate it. If you'd like to donate more books, here's the link: Love4Reading Each purchase benefits the school and helps us buy even more books! Even better, share the link with friends and family. Thank you!

Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:
We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.
Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.
We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.
