Welcome back to The Circle! Just like that, the first half term is complete. I always notice how much joy is evident each and every day at the school. Whether it’s the smiles we see from the children as they arrive, the playful learning they participate in each day, or the positive relationships they are building with staff and friends. It really makes all of the hard work worthwhile and it is a privilege to serve such a joyful community. Have a wonderful half term break! Stay safe and we will see you back at school on Monday 4th November. Best wishes, Andi and team.
Our Values in Action:
Reception – Joy
This week, we had the pleasure of celebrating our children's achievements with a special exhibition of their self-portraits at Island Bikes. The stunning portraits, each a reflection of their unique personalities, were beautifully framed by their Year 1 buddies, who thoughtfully designed each frame using the Reception children's favourite colours and patterns. The artwork looked incredible, and the children were so proud to share their creations and celebrate their learning journey. A big thank you to everyone who joined us to share in this joyful occasion!

Year 1- Joy
It’s hard to believe that our half term has come to an end already! This term, the children have truly embodied all of our school values, but in the past week, their joy has been particularly evident as they eagerly prepared for School 360 exhibition. They have poured their creativity into making posters and writing invitations to their families. What a wonderful way to wrap up this half term!

Year 2 – Joy
I can’t believe we have already come to the end of our first half term! The children have been true examples of all our school values and this was shown in the fantastic work they have produced for our healthy cafe. The children loved working together to making their healthy snacks and coming together to sell them on Thursday. Thank you so much for all the support you have given this half term, it was wonderful to see how proud the children are of everything they have achieved already.

Year 3 – Joy
Year 3 were lucky enough to attend a drumming workshop with two amazing drummers from a Music Mission. They practised their body percussion, sang songs and were able to get a sneak peek at Azryah’s drumming skills (or lack thereof). 😀

Community Corner:
Black History Month
The theme for Black History Month this year is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’. At School 360 we think deeply about making sure the perspectives and narratives of underrepresented communities are highlighted all year round and not only in October. We encourage critical thinking and also focus on positive representation and raising self-esteem. Newham has a range of activities taking place throughout the month and you can see more here on their website!
Love 4 reading
To promote the love of reading, we give every child a book for their birthday that they can keep and this is supported through your kind donations. Thank you to everyone who has donated books so far. We really appreciate it. If you'd like to donate more books, here's the link: Love4Reading Each purchase benefits the school and helps us buy even more books! Even better, share the link with friends and family. Thank you!
Bikes and scooters
Thank you to all parents and families that are reminding their children to walk with their bike or scooter in the playground – keep it up! Please remember, if you are leaving a bike or scooter at school, use the spaces at the back and work forwards so that we can use the storage most effectively. It’s encouraging to see how many children keep active by biking or scooting to school and we are looking into increasing our storage as the school continues to grow each year!

Link to pay for breakfast club and the school trip:
We will be moving our Student Management Information System (MIS) to Arbor in September 2024 and we are no longer using Reach More Parents (WEDUC) to take online payments for trips and the breakfast club. Please use this link to purchase breakfast club places and for trip payments.
Breakfast club opens from 7:50am Children need to arrive before 8.30 to join the breakfast club. If parents arrive at 8.30 or later they will be asked to wait at the main gate until 8.40, because the breakfast club is closed and children are already being taken to their various classes. If a child arrives a few minutes before the club closes, they can still eat breakfast in the classroom as we would never want a child to go without breakfast. It’s the case for all parents that if they let a member of staff know in the morning that their child hasn’t eaten breakfast, they will always be offered and encouraged to eat something as this is best for their wellbeing and learning.
We will be asking for a contribution of £2 per day. We can offer a discount for siblings and this cost does not affect families eligible for Free School Meals. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the School office and we will do our best to help. Thanks for your understanding.
